Subject: She lived life to the fullest!
I wish I had a hard copy of this book for posterity. I would gladly jettison five books in my library for this one. I am grateful to whomever uploaded it.
I don't believe Lizzie married into my family, which is why I found her in the first place. But I was captivated by Lizzie's adventures in Europe and Egypt from the very first letter. She was married to the head of the largest corporation in St. Louis and was quite wealthy, and took advantage of every opportunity she got to sight see, climb hundreds of steps to get wonderful vistas, travel by train, carriage, boat or donkey to so many spots in the world. In the 1890's, the horse still reigned supreme, and travel was much slower than today. Letters crossing the Atlantic took time, lots of time, so she filled each letter with anecdotes and descriptive phrases. I enjoyed reading them as much as their recipients did. They must have; those letters got saved.
